At Dovetail Cabin Tools, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied, we offer the following refund and return policy:
1. General Return Eligibility
- Return Timeframe: You have 1 week (7 days) from the date of receipt to return any unused, undamaged items.
- Condition of Items: The item must be unused, unopened, and in its original packaging to be eligible for a return.
- Restocking Fee: All returned items will incur a 25% restocking fee.
- Return Shipping: Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance for returns.
2. Refunds
- Refund Method: Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used during purchase (e.g., credit card, Affirm).
- Refund Processing: Once we receive your returned item, your refund will be processed within 14 days. You will be notified once your refund has been issued.
- Non-Refundable Items:
- Chainsaws are non-refundable due to manufacturer warranty conditions.
- No partial refunds will be issued. If the product is returned in a condition that meets our criteria, the full refund (minus the restocking fee) will be processed.
3. Damaged or Defective Products
- Reporting Damaged or Defective Items: If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us within 3 days of receipt by emailing info@dovetailcabintools.com with detailed photos of the damage or defect.
- Resolution for Damaged Products: We will offer an exchange for damaged or defective products. If we are unable to replace the item, a full refund will be issued.
- Timeframe for Reporting Damage: Claims for damaged or defective items must be made within 3 days of receiving the product.
4. Exchanges
- We do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, you must return the original item within the eligible timeframe and place a new order for the replacement item.
5. Custom Orders
- Custom Orders: At this time, we do not accept returns or refunds on custom or made-to-order products.
6. Holiday or Seasonal Exceptions
- Holiday Returns: For products purchased as gifts during the holiday season, we may consider extending the return timeframe on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us at info@dovetailcabintools.com for further assistance.
7. International Returns
- International Returns: For international customers, you will be responsible for the return shipping costs as well as any customs duties or taxes associated with returning the product.
8. Acknowledgment of Terms
- The Refund and Return Policy will be linked at checkout, and you must agree to these terms before finalizing your order. By completing your purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted our return and refund policies.
How to Return an Item

- Provide your order number and a detailed description of the reason for the return.
- If the return is due to damage or defect, please include clear pictures of the item.
- Once approved, return the item using a trackable shipping service. Please retain the proof of return shipment.
