The bar is drilled with slots on precise spacing to use with the 9 x 9 jigs, providing just enough adjustment to allow for the slight variation in rough-sawn logs while preserving the accuracy of the joint and the well-being of the chain.
9 x 9 Dovetail Jig
The Dovetail Cabin Tools Dovetail Jig is designed for a 9″ square timber and leaves a 1″ chink gap. This jig clamps on the end of the log and guides the chainsaw perfectly for a series of cuts to make a flawless dovetail. The jig utilizes wingnuts for fast and easy clamping on each log.
Each jig is made to accommodate a variance of +/- 1/4″ in the log.
